Meet Our Latest Employee of the Month
Tracy Taylor
For
many employees and visitors to Rockford Memorial
Hospital, Tracy Taylor is
the key to getting their day off to a great start. As the lead barista at Java City in
the hospital lobby, Tracy
supplies many people, including numerous “regulars,” with a tasty beverage to
start their day. Her friendly attitude and focus on customer service are just
two reasons she was named the July Employee of the Month.
How
long have you worked at RHS?
Almost 3 years
What
do you like best about working at RHS?
Interacting with patients and customers
What’s
a typical day like for you?
Every day is different.
I start out by getting Java
City ready for business in
the morning and then spend my day waiting on customers.
I get my everyday regulars and then a lot of visitors coming in who are
waiting for news on a family member or visiting someone.
It is nice to be there for them when they want to talk and just have
someone listen to them.
What
do you like best about your job?
Being able to
work in the front of the hospital. I see
a lot of new and old faces. Also my hours
are perfect and I have two great bosses, Danielle Zediker and Dave Nicholson.
Is
there anything people would be surprised to learn about your job?
No not
really….but you really get to learn what people drink and you start to memorize
all of the drinks. It is really nice to
see my customers smile when you have their drinks ready for them.
How did they surprise you with the award?
My co-worker left Java
City saying she had to go work in the
cafeteria for a little while and then returned with everyone coming around the
corner and Gary
telling me he needed to talk to me about a situation.
I totally thought I was in trouble for something!!!
It was a great surprise!
Do
you have any special memories from working at RHS?
Receiving the Superior
Customer Service Award. That was a very
nice honor, but this one is even better!
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Well, when I am not at one of the five sporting events my children are
in, I am usually in the water-whether it is in our pool, on a jet ski, boating
or kneeboarding. I just love the summer
and the water!
