Medical Specialties

Rockford Health System's commitment to progressive, caring medicine has made us the region's demonstrated leader in numerous specialized areas of care. Many of these specialized areas of care are available to the people of our region only through Rockford Health System.

Children's Medical Center
The Children's Medical Center at Rockford Health System offers the most advanced care for newborns and children in the region. In 2006, we were recognized by the Illinois Department of Public Health as a Pediatric Critical Care Center. This new distinction makes us one of only eight hospitals in Illinois recognized for providing the highest level of specialized critical care and emergency care services to children.

Heart and Vascular Center
The Heart and Vascular Center at Rockford Health System, located in the Rockford Medical Building at 2350 N. Rockton Avenue, offers an innovative, leading approach to heart and vascular care. We were the first in the region to offer a one-stop, multi-physician facility.

Trauma Center
At Rockford Health System, our Level I Trauma Center is ready to respond to any emergency or traumatic situation 24 hours a day thanks to our team of specialty physicians who are ready to respond at a moment's notice.

Brain and Spine Center
The Brain and Spine Center at Rockford Health System combines neurology and neurosurgery in one location. Rockford Health System has outstanding neurologists and neurosurgeons, to provide the most sophisticated, state-of-the-art care possible for many disorders and trauma care.

Orthopedics
Rockford Health System is the regional leader in surgery, with more than 12,000 inpatient and outpatient procedures performed at Rockford Memorial Hospital each year. That experience translates into the top orthopedic surgery program in the region.

Primary Care
Selecting a physician is an important decision. At Rockford Health System, primary care physicians are available at Rockford Health Physicians locations throughout the region.

Women's Services
The Maternity Center at Rockford Health System offers the highest level of care for both mom and baby. Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine Department and High-Risk Perinatal Unit cares for expectant moms who have complications, while our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit cares for even the tiniest baby.
