School of Radiography

The School of Radiography at Rockford Health System is dedicated to supplying our students and the communities of interest with a radiography program designed to provide education in the imaging sciences. This is accomplished through required didactic and clinical experiences that a Level I Trauma Center can provide. We are further dedicated to graduating radiographers with knowledge and clinical experiences to prevail in their efforts to successfully complete the ARRT exam and secure employment.

Radiology

Rockford Health System radiologists and radiology technologists make use of a wide range of advanced diagnostic imaging devices at several locations throughout the system. Rockford Memorial Hospital is home to the latest in CT scanners and state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging machines (MRIs), which allow radiologists to "see" inside the body for early diagnosis of many disorders. Rockford Memorial Hospital also offers an open MRI for large patients and those unable to tolerate confined spaces, as well as a silent MRI.

Nuclear medicine studies, X-rays and ultrasound procedures are also available at the hospital and several Rockford Health Physicians locations. Mammograms are available in two locations through the Mammography Center of Rockford Health System, which is approved by the FDA and the American College of Radiology. In addition, the radiologists employ minimally invasive techniques when appropriate for the diagnosis and treatment of breast, uterine abnormalities, back pain, and numerous other cutting-edge procedures.
